The is full of summer fun. By the time school is over for the summer, kids are already eager to get outside. There are plenty of places to visit that are family-friendly and offer some adventure. Although the beach is the most popular summer destination, there are also plenty of other places that are fun and educational for kids.

Disneyworld

Even if you’re not a huge fan of crowds, Disneyworld is still a great place to visit. With four parks, it’s no wonder it’s one of the most popular summer resorts in the world. Some of the best ways to make the most of your trip are to wait until your kids are six years old and to book character meals at least two months in advance.

Sun Studio

You’ll be able to sell your kids on Sun Studio by showing them where U2’s Bono recorded “Rattle and Hum.” While you’re in town, head over to Graceland and check out the outfits worn by Elvis and Priscilla. Less than a mile away from the facility is the Peabody Hotel, which is known for its historic stay.

Rock City

If you’re from the Southeast, you’ve probably seen the message painted on the side of barns and houses: Rock City. This quirky tourist spot is located in Lookout Mountain in Tennessee. It’s a great example of the region’s quirky sense of humor. It also showcases its beautiful countryside.

Street Cars in New Orleans

The New Orleans streetcar is a great way to transport your kids around the city. You can take a ride in one of the old-fashioned cars, or you can hop on a ride and explore the city from one of the four routes.

You’ll be able to see the historic homes of New Orleans, and your kids will love the white alligator at the aquarium and the Komodo dragons at the zoo. It’s also fun to note that the streetcars are inspired by the movie “A Streetcar Named Desire.”

River Cruises in San Antonio

Although you’re probably familiar with the River Walk in San Antonio, walking isn’t the best way to appreciate the area. Instead, take a boat tour to explore the Spanish-inspired architecture of the city. Your kids will have a great time riding the colorful boats, and the guide will be able to narrate the tour.
